Nehal Wadhera is a rising star in the world of Indian cricket. Born on January 18, 2000, in Amritsar, Punjab, Nehal Wadhera is a right-handed batsman and right-arm medium-fast bowler. He has represented Punjab in the Ranji Trophy and other domestic competitions, and is regarded as one of the most promising young cricketers in India.

Early Life and Education

Nehal Wadhera was born and brought up in Amritsar, Punjab. He attended the Army Public School in Amritsar, where he started playing cricket at a young age. Nehal showed great talent and potential from a very early age, and his parents encouraged him to pursue his passion for cricket.


Nehal Wadhera made his first-class debut for Punjab in the 2018-19 Ranji Trophy season. He scored 82 runs in his debut match against Andhra Pradesh and followed it up with another impressive knock of 78 runs in the second match against Tamil Nadu. He went on to play all eight matches for Punjab that season, scoring 372 runs at an average of 31. In the 2019-20 season, Nehal Wadhera was appointed as the captain of the Punjab Under-23 team for the CK Nayudu Trophy. He led the team from the front, scoring 372 runs in six matches at an average of 62. He also played for Punjab in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy that season. In 2020, Nehal Wadhera was signed by the Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) franchise for the 2020 Indian Premier League (IPL) season. Although he did not get a chance to play in the tournament, he gained valuable experience of being a part of a top-level cricket team.


Nehal Wadhera has already made a number of records in his young cricketing career. In his debut match for Punjab in the Ranji Trophy, he became the third-youngest player from Punjab to score a half-century. He also became the first player from Punjab to captain the team in the CK Nayudu Trophy and scored the highest individual score by a Punjab player in the tournament.
