KL Rahul, also known as Kannur Lokesh Rahul, is an Indian cricketer born on April 18, 1992, in Mangalore, Karnataka, India. Rahul is a right-handed opening batsman and can also play as a wicket-keeper.
Family:
Rahul's father is KN Lokesh, a professor at the National Institute of Technology in Karnataka, and his mother is Rajeshwari Lokesh. He has a younger sister named Bhavna.
Career:
Rahul made his first-class debut for Karnataka in 2010 and his international debut for India in 2014. He has played for several teams in the Indian Premier League, including Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Kings XI Punjab (now known as Punjab Kings).
Records:
Rahul has set several records throughout his career. In 2019, he became the first Indian batsman to score a hundred in the Indian Premier League, the first Indian to score a hundred on One Day International debut, and the first Indian to score a hundred in all formats of international cricket. He also holds the record for the fastest fifty in the Indian Premier League, scoring a fifty off just 14 balls in 2018.
