The first edition of the TNPL was held in 2016 and featured eight teams. The teams were named after cities in Tamil Nadu, namely Chennai, Coimbatore, Dindigul, Karaikudi, Madurai, Ruby Trichy Warriors, Tuti Patriots, and VB Thiruvallur Veerans. Dindigul Dragons are the Defending Champions of This League Season 2024.
